Mrs. Dorothy (Gramacke) Zanger, 71, of Wilkes Barre, passed away Friday, March 3, 2017, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes Barre.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Stella Ropeck Gramacke. She was a graduate of Pittston High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Social Security Administration, Wilkes Barre.
She was a member of St. Andre Bessette Parish, Wilkes Barre.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Zanger and brother, Stanley Gramacke.
Surviving are:
Daughter, Cindy Casey and her boyfriend, Mark Zurawski, of Wilkes Barre
Sister, Barbara (Gramacke) Nowakowski of Pittston
Nephew, Robert Nowakowski of White Haven
A funeral will be held on Monday, March 6, 2017, at 10:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Monday morning from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at the funeral home. So sad to learn of Dorothy's death. She was a fine person from a fine family.

Cindy, My deepest condolences to you in this saddest of times...I watched you and listened to you for the last two years about all you did for your Mother and it was evident to all that you were the best daughter she could ask for. God Bless You and may your Mom rest in peace.
