Mr. Charles M. Koytek Sr., 89, of Duryea, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains.

Born in Duryea, he was the son of the late Walter and Josephine Ryzner Koytek. He attended Duryea High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Levy's Bakery, Duryea, William's Bakery, Scranton and Grablick's, Pittston.

Charles was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea and the Polish Falcons Nest 128, Duryea.

He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Charles, grandson, Brian, brothers, Frank, John, Stanley and Edward and sister, Theresa Enkulenko.

Charles and his wife, the former Cecelia Gursky, would have celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary this coming November.

Surviving in addition to his wife are:
Son, Stephen Koytek and his wife, Donna, of Moosic
Daughter in law, Christine Koytek of Moosic

Granddaughter, Melissa Albero and her husband, Anthony, of Stroudsburg
Grandson, Stephen Koytek and his wife, Stephanie, of Springbrook
Grandson, Michael Koytek of Moosic
Grandson, Charles Koytek III of Moosic
Grandson, Tyler Koytek of Moosic

Great granddaughter, Angelica Albero
Great grandson, Anthony James Albero
Great grandson, Javen Koytek
Twin great grandsons, Tobi and Emmett Koytek

Funeral will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019, at 9:00 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, 712 South Keyser Ave., Taylor, PA 18517 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
