Mrs. Carol Mesaris, 76, of Duryea, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017, in Celtic Hospice @ Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Vincent and Michaline Kaczmarzyk Knitowski. She was a graduate of Duryea High School, Class of 1959 and Lackawanna Junior College. She was formerly employed by Pennsylvania Gas and Water Company, Wilkes-Barre.

Carol was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Carol was a quiet and gentle soul. She was an avid Penn State and Philadelphia Eagles fan. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the PGA Tournaments.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony and Joseph and sisters, Pauline Knitowski and Matilda Gabrielski.

Carol and her husband, Francis P., would have celebrated their 52nd Wedding Anniversary on October 2nd.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by:
Daughter, Paula Mesaris of Pittston
Son, Michael Mesaris and his wife, Renee, of Pittston Township

Grandchildren:
Michael, Joshua, Morgan, Madison and Matthew

Brother, Frank Knitowski and his wife, Diane, of Hillsborough, New Jersey
Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017, at 10:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in the Parish Cemetery, Duryea. There will be no public viewing. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Nativity of Our Lord Parish's Building Fund, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea, Pa 18642.
