Poplarchick

Mr. Brian E. Poplarchick, 60, of Duryea, entered eternal peace and paradise on Monday, March 9, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
.
A lifelong resident of Duryea, Brian was born on May 14,1965, the son of the late Edward and Mary Rose Kabacinski Poplarchick. He was a graduate of Seton Catholic High School and Luzerne County Community College, graduating with a Degree in Criminal Justice. He had previously worked as a phlebotomist for Mercy Hospital, Scranton. For many years, Brian proudly worked at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc.

Brian was a project manager in the environmental field for the majority of his life and was currently employed as a Senior Project Manager by LaBella Associates, Dunmore. Brian worked right up until his last day.

He was a man of great faith, instilling this faith into all of his family and was a lifelong member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea.

Brian was a loving Husband, Dad and Pa. You could often find him with Stasia discussing their favorite colors, building her newest toy and also enjoying a sweet treat. Pa loved his Stasia - There is no greater love, than the love between a grandparent and their grandchild.

Brian was a lifelong member of Germania Hose Company, Duryea, which he took great pride in, and was the active secretary. One of his favorite traditions was Christmas Caroling with his fellow firefighters. He was a social member of The American Legion Post 585, Duryea and Emanon Country Club, Falls. His favorite pastime was attempting to perfect his swing.

If Brian was not working or on the golf course, you would find him in his backyard enjoying a cigar, Miller Lite, and bourbon along with the little things in nature like bird watching and his tomato garden. A lover of sports, during baseball season you could find him watching every New York Yankees game and during football season, enjoying the LSU Tigers and cursing the Miami Dolphins. His most treasured memories include his annual Fourth of July parties, gathering his family for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinner and festivities, and Sunday Dinners with the family.

Surviving is his wife, the former Roxanne Seliga, of 36 years who was the ultimate love of his life and who in Brian’s words “completed him”.
Son, Nicholas Poplarchick and his wife, Mia of Taylor
Daughter, Gabrielle Poplarchick of Duryea
Granddaughter and light of his life, Stasia
His faithful and loving companion, Munson
Sister, Patti Poplarchick of Eagleville
Sister, Louise Poplarchick of Scranton

The family would like to thank Dr. Fasicana and his staff, Dr. Teitelbaum, Penn Medicine, and Brianna and Garrett of Compassionate Care Hospice for the care and compassion that was shown to Brian and his family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 9:30 AM in Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant and Deacon Andre Kabacinski officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Friday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Germania Hose Company, 430 Foote Avenue, Duryea, PA 18642.
