Mrs. Bernadine Kaczmarczyk, 85, of Duryea, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at Timber Ridge Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Humenanski Ryzner. She was a graduate of Duryea High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the former Brooks Mfg., Old Forge.
She was a life long member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. She was a woman of great faith, who was devoted to her faith, her church and the Blessed Mother. She was a heart transplant survivor for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard B. Kaczmarczyk, who passed away on September 18, 2008, son, Barry Kaczmarczyk, sister, Claire Ryzner, brothers, Martin Ryzner, Albert Ryzner and John Ryzner.

Son, Jack Kaczmarczyk and his wife, Janet, of Mountain Top
Son, Kenneth Kaczmarczuk of Duryea
Son, Jerry Kaczmarczyk of Duryea
Four grandchildren:
Maria, Eric, Patrick and Jonathan

Funeral will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at 8:30 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 m to 8:00 pm. So sorry to hea of Bernadine's passing. She shared a room with my daughter Michelle at Hahnemann Hospital as they both waited for their heart transplant. She was a wonderful person and truly the sweetest person ever. God Bless her & her family.
