Mrs. Barbara Ann Nayavich, 79, of Pittston Township, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at her home.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Baldiga Gusinski and was a graduate of Duryea High School.

Barbara was a member of Nativity of Our Lord Parish, Duryea. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and also gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Gusinski.

Barbara and her husband, James, celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary this past September.

Son, James Nayavich and his wife, Susan, of Harveys Lake
Son, Jeff Nayavich and his husband, Mark Lasky, of Dallas

4 grandchildren:
Siobhan, Gabrielle, Rob and Dylan
3 great grandchildren

Sister, Rose Marie Cegelka of Scranton
Nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:30 am in Holy Rosary Church, 127 Stephenson Street, Duryea with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating. Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Duryea. A viewing will be held on Friday from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
