Barbara Ann Girman, 85, passed peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday, November 9, 2025, while in hospice care at Keystone House in Wyndmoor, PA.
Born in Dupont, PA, Barbara was the daughter of the late Julia (Sudol) Wilk and John Wilk and remained a lifelong resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
A 1957 graduate of Duryea High School, she earned a secretarial certificate from Scranton Lackawanna Business College and went on to serve as an executive secretary for Owens-Illinois, later Techneglas/OI-NEG, in Pittston, where she worked until her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter Andrea M. Girman, MD, of Asheville, NC; her son Michael J. Girman, Jr. and his wife Pam, of Doylestown, PA; and her beloved grandchildren Jake, Julia, Andrew, and Emily. She is also survived by her sisters Bernadine Mackowski of Old Forge, PA, and Marie Blough of Williamsburg, VA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael J. Girman.
An avid gardener and lover of interior design and classic fashion, Barbara brought warmth, grace, and quiet elegance to all who knew her.
Cremation arrangements are under the care of the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
