Mrs. Agnes Roman, 94, of Herndon, VA, formerly of Exeter, gracefully passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Pittston, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Michaylo Ochall. She attended Pittston Schools and was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Pittston.

Prior to retirement, Agnes was employed by several cigar companies in the Pittston Area and Gruen Corporation, Exeter.

She was well known for her potato pancakes and love of Bingo. She was a loving sister, mother and aunt who will be greatly missed.

Agnes was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph, and her first husband, Joseph Gaydosick, and her second husband, Joseph (Weazer) Roman. Brothers, Paul, Michael, George, John, Andrew, and Robert. Two infant brothers named Joseph; and Sisters, Helen Minchak, Mary Ochall, Ann Shemo, and Margaret Kahanec.

Surviving are many nieces and nephews nationwide

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, at 9:30 am from the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea with Mass of the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 am in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Church, 205 North Main Street, Pittston with the Rev. Andrii Dumnych officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Pittston. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
