Mrs. Agnes Marie Wharton, 82, of Pittston Township, passed away Friday, October 22, 2021, at her home.

Born in Duryea, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Susan Ferko Chromey and was a graduate of St. John's High School, Pittston.  Agnes Marie was previously employed by Occhiato Brothers, Pittston.

She was a member of Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, Pittston. Agnes Marie enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wharton, who passed away on December 30, 1999 and sister and brother in law, Theresa and James Holder.

Surviving are:
Niece, Betsy Kozak and her husband, Gerald, of Pittston Township
Great nephew, Alexander Kozak
Great niece, Katherine Kozak
Numerous cousins and friends

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish, 535 North Main Street, Pittston with the Rev. Paul McDonnell officiating. Interment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton. There will be no viewing. Arrangements are by the Bernard J. Piontek Funeral Home Inc., 204 Main Street, Duryea. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Eucharist Parish.
